The Elbphilharmonie

After 9 years of construction, it is finally finished! And it was worth the wait: built on top of the former Kaiserspeicher, the imposing new glass building rises up with its wave-shaped roof. Inside the architectural masterpiece, there are two concert halls as well as a hotel and luxurious flats with spectacular views. On 11 January 2017, the first note was played at the opening concert in the Great Hall, the centre of the "Elphi" - as the concert hall is already affectionately known.

Europe's longest escalator takes you to the Elbphilharmonie Plaza - a platform/foyer 37 metres above the ground. This is the interface between the old warehouse and the new glass building complex. Visitors have the opportunity to walk all the way around the Elbphilharmonie on the viewing platform - it's worth it, because the view of the city and the harbour is breathtaking.

The Plaza is accessible to everyone - tickets are available directly on site.
