A management-focused dual study programme will prepare you perfectly for these future challenges. We collaborate with IU International University (dual study programme at the Hamburg campus) and offer dual study programmes in the following fields:
Hotel Management Tourism Management (BA)
- Seminar and lecture blocks held directly at IU
- Practical placement at the Alsterkrug Hotel
- 2 days at university per week | 3 days of practical training at the hotel
Introduction to all operational areas in the first year
- Welcoming, advising and looking after guests
- Food and drinks service, wine service
- Preparing and checking guest rooms
- Working with the hotel booking system – Guestline – and operating the hotel till
Gaining an understanding of all administrative areas from the second year onwards
- Conducting sales discussions and preparing quotations
- Planning, organising and running events
- Accounting and management tasks
- Planning staff rota, handling guest correspondence and managing stock

- Good knowledge of MS Office programmes
- Quick on the uptake
- Ability to see the bigger picture
- Initial practical experience gained through an internship in the hotel and catering industry would be an advantage
- Very good command of German and English; knowledge of other languages would be an advantage
